Join me for the Filthy 50 Recon Ride, part of our 4-part series designed to prepare you for the main event. Each ride will increase in length and tackle different course sections.
F50 Recon #3 route combines the first and second parts of the course. This ride is designed to boost your confidence, refine your pacing strategy, and help you familiarize yourself with every aspect of the course.
GOAL: PACING
There will be three designated 'race pace' sections to practice your efforts, and the challenge is to grabbing some water and fueling during these segments. The practice areas are:
1. Modest Mule Segment (miles 7-9) -
2. Hodges (mile 12-14) - Pure Ecstasy Segment
3. Hernandez to top of the damn (mile 16-18) - DAMN! S Segment
The challenge is to focus on your eating and drinking during these sections. By now, your bike and gear should be dialed in, making it an excellent time to fine-tune your nutrition and hydration strategies. It’s not just about what to eat and drink, but when. You’ll also work on pacing and drafting with others, key elements of race strategy.
