Join me for the Filthy 50 Recon Ride, part of our 4-part series designed to prepare you for the main event. Each ride will increase in length and tackle different course sections. Our goal is to boost your confidence, refine your pacing strategy, and familiarize you with every aspect of the course. With my guidance as your cycling coach, you'll also fine-tune your nutrition strategy along the way. Best of all, these recon rides are completely free and complement our 12-week training program perfectly.
OBJECTIVE:
This ride focuses on the hilly portion of the Filthy 50—expect punchy climbs, long grinds, and switchbacks. If you're doing the 30-mile version, this route isn't part of your race, but it's excellent training for elevation.
PREPARE
Start with 2 full bottles (water + electrolytes). Drink at least one bottle per hour.
Fueling Plan:** Consume 50g+ carbs per hour. Plan your nutrition in advance.
Ensure your bike is in good working order, especially the brakes and gears.
